Chausson’s Concerto is an emotional odyssey of enormous range and inexhaustible melody. Pianist Evgenia Startseva (well-known to Lower Machen audiences) and violinist Özcan Ulucan have come together with the Edinburgh String Quartet for this one-off performance – an event truly befitting the festival. Preceding it is Franck’s much-loved Violin Sonata and one of Haydn’s best-known Quartets, The Lark, marking the bi-centenary of his death.
