Bach's Goldberg Variations represents an Everest for keyboard players and is a pinnacle of baroque music. In 2007 Catrin Finch began to transcribe the Variations for harp - a challenge that took a year to complete and which can now be heard on her critically acclaimed Deutsche Grammophon recording, released in January this year. In the closing concert of this year’s Festival, you can hear this remarkable transcription – a huge musical journey, lasting over an hour, in the ancient surroundings of the Church of St Michael and All Angels. Not to be missed!
