At 27 years-old, Yevgeny Sudbin has attracted the kind of critical acclaim that most young pianists can only dream of. His playing is noted for its volcanic intensity, technical perfection, melting lyrical richness and subtlety of colour. His recital at Lower Machen ranges from two of Haydn’s greatest sonatas, through Chopin, Scriabin and Ravel’s Gaspard de la nuit – an evocation of cascading water, a tolling bell for a hanged man and the nocturnal mischief of a ghostly imp.
“Yevgeny Sudbin is already hailed as potentially one of the greatest pianists of the 21st century” - The Daily Telegraph
