Daytime concerts

(Entry to all Daytime Concerts is FREE)

This year the Festival will be presenting four short concerts during the day – a great opportunity for those of you who find it difficult to get out in the evenings to enjoy a taste of the Festival spirit.

The concerts on 26, 27 & 28 June are promoted in partnership with Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Arts Department and Library Services.

Tuesday 26 June, 11am
Machen Library
Philip Heyman (viola) & Katherine Thomas (harp)
A programme of light classics for played by two members of the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera.

Wednesday 27 June, 11am
Ystrad Mynach Library
Huw Chidgey & Catherine Handley
Acoustic folk music from the critically acclaimed Huw Chidgey and Catherine Handley with music based on the traditions of the British Isles, original compositions and contemporary writers working in the folk idiom.

Thursday 28 June, 2.30pm
Abertridwr Library
New Folks
Ed Jay (accordion) & Oli Wilson-Dickson (violin)
High-energy accordion and fiddle duo with music rooted in the Celtic tradition ranging through high-energy reels, delicate airs to sizzling gypsy tunes.
