One of the most influential and innovative pioneers in contemporary British jazz, pianist Keith Tippett first gained widespread attention in the late 60s and early 70s for his piano / keyboard playing on the recordings of King Crimson, Soft Machine, Elton Dean and Peter Sinfield.
Since that time he has been at the forefront of contemporary European jazz as a composer, educator and big band leader and his intense performances as a solo pianist open up a unique and rich world of fantasy, energy and meditative lyricism.
