Daniel de Gruchy-Lambert (Trumpet)
Francesca Kay (Narrator)
Keith Ellerington (Conductor)
The First Dragon was composed by Mervyn Burtch and written by Francesca Kay as a companion piece to Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf and has already received many enthusiastic performances throughout Wales by audiences from eight to eighty. Narrated here by its author, it shares a programme with imperishable music by Haydn, Rossini and Mozart together with three vivid and colourful snapshots of Welsh landscapes by Christopher Painter.
Still in his teens, Daniel de Gruchy-Lambert is one of the most outstanding instrumentalists to have emerged from Wales in recent years and will be the soloist in Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto with the well-known Welsh Sinfonia.

| Haydn | Trumpet Concerto (25’) |
