English Medieval Music and Song and Pilgrimage,
Plague and Peril
Join us for an evening of medieval song from England and fourteenth century Europe with four members of Misericordia, featuring not only voices but bagpipes, gothic harp, recorders, hurdy-gurdy, citole, pibcorn and authentic percussion. In the two different halves of the programme Misericordia explore some of the earliest known songs in English on the familiar themes of love, death and devotion. In addition there are also instrumental dances from Northern Italy, popular pilgrimage music from Spain and love songs from France.
